Mrs. Sarah Lytle passed away at her home, 814 E. Franklin Street early Tuesday morning about 1:40 o’clock after an illness extending over 5 weeks. Mrs. Lytle was 76 years of age and was well and favorably known in this city where she had resided for some time past. She was born near Greenfield, Hancock County May 19, 1834, and was the daughter of William and Sallie New. She was united in marriage to Benjamin Lytle many years ago and four daughters with the husband, survive the decedent. Mrs. Lytle lived to n age when she could enjoy the privilege of a large family. Besides her daughters, 22 grand children and 19 great grand children are living. The daughters are: Mrs. Charles Ayres, Mrs. George Duncan, Mrs. Daniel White and Mrs. John Serings. Two brothers, Lewis New of Clinton County and Daniel New of Kansas and one sister, Mrs. Nancy Huffle of Lebanon also survive her. For 22 years Mrs. Lytle was a prominent and consistent member of the United Brethren Church in this city and funeral seravices will be conducted by Rev. GL Stine of that church at the home Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Burial will be made in Oak Hill Cemetery. - transcribed by kbz
